Kata Kunci: OAINS, Ibuprofen Arginin, Natrium Diklofenak, Nyeri, Nyeri Latensi Pain is a global problem that has been felt by all generations of mankind. The humankind has employed many methods in handling pain and the use of NSAIDs is a proven effective method. The use of non-specific NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and diclofenac is a commonly observed phenomenon as >30 million people around the world take NSAIDs every day. According to the Oxford league of analgesics table, both drugs have similar analgesic potency, ibuprofen 400 mg/600 mg (NNT: 2,4) and diclofenac (NNT: 2,3). A new preparation of ibuprofen salinized with the amino acid l-arginine raises questions about the comparison of its analgesic potency to diclofenac. This research was conducted in a quasi-experimental and double-blind setting with pre- and post-tests treatments. The research sample consisted of 30 healthy subjects who were divided into 3 groups (n= 10). The groups received 600 mg ibuprofen arginine, 500 mg sugar (placebo), or 50 mg diclofenac sodium. Analgesia effect was observed by measuring pain latency before treatment (0') and after treatment (30', 60', 90', 120', 150', 180'). A direct comparison of the two drugs does not produce significant results, 50 mg diclofenac sodium is only 1.2 seconds superior to 600 mg ibuprofen arginine (p >0.9999).References
